A clutter free home is a clutter free mind. When we reduce clutter, we eliminate stress and overwhelm. And the junk drawer encapsulates everything about what clutter is. It’s also the perfect challenge to launch our challenge. Why? Because the idea behind these projects isn’t to end the day with a perfect home. It’s to learn tips and tricks you can apply to other spaces, and to end the day feeling accomplished and motivated. We’ll help you turn your junk drawer into a “drawer of handy items I can find when I need them.”
Cost closets are a catch-all. Guests coming? Throw clutter into the coat closet. Need to pick up quickly? Shove everything into the coat closet. If your coat closet has a collection of things stashed there, it may take a little while to organize. Even if you don’t use your coat closet to hide clutter, every home has a coat closet or entry way that becomes a place for shoes, coats, and other in-and-out-of-the-house staging. And there are often a lot of things that aren't being used. We’ll help you change that!
Pantries are one of my favorite projects. For those of you that love to cook, having a very organized pantry is important. They get so messy, don’t they? But a properly organized pantry can make it easier to plan meals and quickly see what you need to put on your grocery list. But the biggest benefit of an organized pantry is that it helps reduce stress. Whether you’re in a hurry to get the kids cereal on the way to school or cooking a gourmet meal for your family, an organized and decluttered pantry makes it all easier.
Bathrooms are notorious for becoming catchalls for a variety of miscellaneous little beauty mistakes! They are generally a lot of tedious work because they are one of those rooms you have to organize on a regular basis to keep them under control. A lot of bathroom organization is about deciding if something is expired, is still being used, or is needed at all. And when you have children at home, all it takes is one kid pulling a towel from beneath the stack in the linen closet before it is a complete mess.
This is my favorite day of the challenge, because you get to take everything you’ve learned from the other four days – how to approach decluttering, how to sort stuff, what products work best to stay organized – and apply it to your own project of choice – a space that is causing you stress and overwhelm. At the end of this day, the joy everyone has from tackling a special project is contagious and part of what helps us all stay motivated to keep working on our homes throughout the year. The only question is, what project will you choose?

Cris likes to think of herself as a nomad. She was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the US at the traumatic age of 15. She has lived in several states and driven cross country twice. She loves road trips and watching independent/weird movies that nobody else seems to enjoy before Netflix came along! ;) Whenever she has time, you can find her riding her road bike, hanging out with people, or of course organizing something at the house! She is also a self-professed “Personal Development Junkie”. She watched the movie “Yes, Man” with Jim Carrey, and says the movie changed her life. What would your life be like if you said Yes, to yourself?

Thank you all for your inspiration - joining this group has really helped me. I’m not usually a joiner, or sometimes join but don’t participate. However forcing myself to join and actually do the work and post about it has been a very positive experience for me. I will keep going to my closet...
I tackled my coat closet! It was a bit of an emotional process because there were many items belonging to my late husband. I now have a large pile of coats/jackets to donate as well as 2 bags of shoes/work boots. So happy I pushed through and stuck with it!
I loved doing your organizing challenge a few years back! Thank you for still offering it!!
I have really been enjoying these challenges, thanks for all the advice and motivation.
